RFDS - Royal Flying Doctors Service
We got a book about the RFDS. It was about a boy who had been bitten by a King Brown snake and the RFDS saved him! The RFDS is an organisation that the man on the $20 note invented. His name is Reverend John Flynn. He created the RFDS. The RFDS is a Australian organisation that flies around Australia helping people in remote areas.
We went to see Reverend John Flynn's grave. It had a big, massive rock on top of it. The first rock they put on top of his ashes was from the sacred site of Devil's Marbles. The Aboriginal people did not like the way they took a rock from one of their sacred sites so they put the rock back and the Aboriginal people from Alice Springs gave them a rock from their sacred caterpillar site instead. Then the aboriginal people had a celebration of the return of the rock to devil's marbles.
